
Most of my websites, require me or one of my other admins to approve new users. Therefore once I have approved you as a user, writer, editor or admin, you will all start out the same way. That means you will need to log into the website that you have been assigned to, using the email address and password that was sent to you.
If you have difficulty logging in, please contact me or one of the other admins.
These instructions begin, once you have logged in successfully.

STEP ONE:
On the right side of the window, you will see your user name.
Below your user name is your “Personal Menu.”
This is where you can edit your profile, change your password, email address, etc.
At the bottom of the Personal Menu is a link called SUBMIT. Once you click on this link, you will be able to click on additional links that will allow you to add a story, files that others can download and images.
Close to the bottom of that list, will be a link titled Submit News. This will be the link you will be using, for the time being.
STEP TWO:
News Subject: This is where you can enter the TITLE to your news article. If you are unsure of what title to us, don’t worry, as we have experienced editors willing to assist, if needed. However, we suggest that you keep the Title as short as possible.
Keywords: Think of several words that you want to highlight, in order for Search Engines to link to this story. If you are not sure what to add, you can leave it blank and our editors can fill it in for you, UNTIL you become more familiar with the concept.
If you do add any keywords, be sure to press the ENTER key after each word, in order to separate them.
Category: An Editor or Admin from the specific website you are using will advise you on what Categories you should select from. There is a drop down list available when you click on the arrow for that box, so if you are not sure what to use, make sure you click on something, and an editor will change it if needed.
News Image: DO NOT ATTEMPT to add an Image at this time. Please read this entire article to the end, in order to find out how to add an image from your computer.
CAUTION: If you copy an image from the internet, please be sure there is not copyright on the image or we will have to pay a very large fine.
If you don’t have your own list of images, you are encouraged to use Creative Commons or any government website for images that can be used safely.
If in doubt, please ask a local admin or editor to educate you on “public domain” and government images or leave it blank and one of our editors will add one, until you are familiar with how to locate them.
Insert News Story: I strongly suggest that you write out your entire story in a document before you try to post it onto any website. This will save you hours of frustration, in the event you hit a wrong key or button on a website and loose the entire story before it is published or saved on the server.
Snippet: Take the first one or two sentences, or possibly even a short paragraph and paste it into the “Snippet” section. This is what will appear in a menu and entice readers to click on the headline to read the rest of the story.
You are encouraged to use BOLD, Italic or underline for attention, but encourage you NOT to use bullet or number lists in this section.
News Content: This is where you will paste the rest of the story. Now is the time to separate any long paragraphs, add bullet or numbered lists and blockquotes if appropriate.
You can also add multiple images if you choose to, in order to accent your message.
However DO NOT upload any images with your news article. You will need to upload them separately using the Submit Photos link, that is located in your Personal Menu.
FINAL STEP: Due to the inconsistent schedules of all the volunteers assisting with these websites, please contact the editor or admin that has been assisting you, as soon as you upload a story and images, via telephone, private social media post or email. That will help them to make sure your news article is approved in a timely fashion.
